The UNHCR, through the Albert Einstein German Academic Refugee Initiative Fund – DAFI, has been supporting refugees in obtaining their university degrees since 2014.

Kiron Lebanon partnered up with Semeurs d’avenir (SDA) and Institut Européen de Coopération et de Développement (IECD) to implement the DAFI scholarship program in Lebanon. In 2021, 87 students benefited from academic and personal follow-up and extracurricular activities such as initiating them to serve their communities through volunteering and providing them with extra online courses in skills, language and digital skills, and job readiness.

As a recognition for their dedication and commitment, Kiron, along with the partners and donors, celebrated 34 students in an online graduation ceremony despite these challenging times.

Knowledge is the most important thing for a person, and despite all the difficulties, I want to reach the place I aspire to. [...] Dafi's team supported us and I personally benefited a lot from volunteer work and language training.
