Programme benefits

In the end you will receive a PROGRESS Certificate for the Summer School, which consists of different components, both online and offline. That means you can compose your own study programme!

Online modules

Tutorials

Skills trainings

Projects

How can I choose?

Each study track during the summer school has to consist of at least one Module (preferably with a tutorial), AND one Project OR one or more Skills training.

So many options! On top of the Module, you can choose more than one skills training, or a skills training AND a project. Chose the elements that work best for you in the Apply section.

Online Modules

Modules are one or more Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). The MOOCs consist of readings, videos, games, quizzes, etc. All modules are self-paced. This means that you can study according to your own schedule; and in your own pace.
The Online Modules are the biggest part of the Summer Certificate Project, and run for 3 months, and will require you to study 10 to 13 hours per week on average.

Tutorials

Tutorials are interactive group sessions with a small group of students and a tutor. There are 4 tutorials developed for this Summer Certificate Programme. You can only take a tutorial when you also enroll in the corresponding Module. During the tutorials, the MOOC content will be discussed in more depth. You can ask any questions to the tutor, or discuss sessions amongst themselves. Tutorials, like Modules, will run online.

The tutorials run in parallel with the modules, for 3 months. They will require you to study 2 to 3 hours a week on average.

Skills trainings

In the skills trainings, students develop a specific competence or ability. Most skills developed during these trainings can be applied to many aspects in life, and will help students during their academic, as well as professional and private life.

Each Skill training runs for 4 weeks, and require students to study 3 to 4 hours a week on average.

Projects

During the projects, students work together in groups to develop their own product. Students are expected to apply their academic knowledge and skills to real life. In the final week, the outcome of the project will be presented by the students. The outcome could be a presentation, a product, or a document.

Projects run during 3 months, and require students to study 4 to 8 hours a week on average.

Mentoring Programme

In August, you will have the chance to be connected to a mentor from your field. The mentor will come from a profession which is relevant to your studies, and will give you an insight into his or her work, and provide you a blend of opportunities for your job market readiness and individual goals.

Social Events & Activities

During the Summer School, we will organize a variety of social activities, such as networking events, cultural dinners, art exhibitions and sports events.

Study Centers

Blended does not mean online – if you want, you can study from home. But we also work together with several spaces in Amman and Irbid where you can meet other students and learn together!

Online Study Platform

All online courses can be found on the Kiron Campus e-learning plattform. Courses are offered on edx, coursera and sailor, which are presented in modules on the platform for for you. Here you also find our Online Forum, where you can learn about study-related topics. You can post questions and have discussions with fellow students and study coordinators.

So what can I choose in detail?
