Transfer to an official university
What are the requirements for studying at a Lebanese university?
The basic requirements for studying in Lebanon are:
- a legal permit for staying in Lebanon, e.g. citizenship, a residency permit, a student visa or a UNHCR registration
- a Lebanese high school diploma (Baccalaureate) or equivalent recognized by the Lebanese Ministry of Higher Education,
- a sufficient level of Arabic and English or French.
The requirements differ from university to university. Please refer to the respective university website for more details.
How can I find out if I am eligible to study?
To find out if your high school diploma is recognized in Lebanon, please read and follow the procedure of the Equivalence Committee of the Lebanese Ministry of Higher Education.
What can I study at Kiron?
Kiron offers the following study tracks to prepare for transfer in Lebanon
- Business & Economics
- Computer Science
Note: All other Kiron study tracks are available for online studying but there are no agreements for credit recognition with partner universities.
Where can I study?
You can apply to any university where you are eligible to study (not only Kiron partners).
Kiron is cooperating with some universities (partner universities) regarding credit recognition where you can finalize your Bachelor’s degree if your field of study is given and you get accepted as a student. Kiron is supporting you in the two-step transfer process:
(1) get accepted as a student and
(2) get the Kiron Credits recognized
Kiron does not guarantee a placement at a university.
Note: You don’t need a certain amount of credits to transfer to any university. However, we recommend taking Kiron courses in order to stay involved in your field of interest or to explore new academic fields that you are not familiar with while you wait for your university application to be processed.
