Can I get a degree?
I want to get a Bachelor’s degree and I have a high school diploma
A high school diploma, also called Baccalaureate, is delivered after 11-13 years of attending school. If you have it and want to get a Bachelor’s degree, then starting with Kiron could be the right thing for you. Find out more about transfer requirements in Lebanon here.
Please note that the Syrian Baccalaureate of the coalition (بكالوريا الائتلاف) is not legally recognized in Lebanon at the moment. To find out if your high school diploma is recognized in Lebanon, please read and follow the procedure of the Equivalence Committee of the Lebanese Ministry of Higher Education.
I want to get a Bachelor’s degree and I do NOT have a high school diploma
Having completed the upper secondary education exam (Baccalaureate) is a prerequisite to access university and get a Bachelor’s degree. Kiron does neither award high school diploma nor university degrees. In order to receive a degree you first need to transfer to a university, and thus meet first the university entrance requirements. Being a Kiron student does not automatically give you access to university.
What can you do?
- If you do not have a high school diploma but have attended and finished high school at your home school, then (depending on your specific situation) you might be eligible to pass the exam at the end of the year (generally around May-June).
- If you do not have a high school diploma and have not finished high school at your home school, then (depending on your specific situation) you might be eligible to register at a Lebanese high school and pass the exam at the end of the year.
