Holiday Giving- Female Empowerment#sheCAN - Empowering Refugee Women

In this season of giving, Kiron wants to raise awareness and funds to support hundreds of female refugees and displaced women on their path towards a self-determined life. For this reason we are running the #sheCAN campaign to empower women through education. Within the scope of the campaign we hope to target 200 female refugees based in Europe within 12 months. The women will be supported through a mentoring program, receive language support and have access to internship opportunities.

We require funding for our female empowerment initiative and ask you to take part in our corporate gift matching program. The corporate matching program aims to increase the funds we receive from individual giving by matching the donations we receive. You can also support our cause by giving a tax deductible donation or by initiating an internal employee giving campaign with which we would be more than happy to support you with.

Support us in bringing digital education to female refugees worldwide

Refugee women face more obstacles than almost any other group when accessing education or the job market: family responsibilities, care work, and informal and unpaid labour – all prevent young women from fulfilling their potential.

We believe in the amazing abilities and resilience of our female learners. That is why we provide the tools they need to shape their own lives and tell their own stories. Female Empowerment is at the heart of what we do, be it through specific projects, campaigns, or features on our digital Kiron Campus, our female students find a supportive and productive community with Kiron. Yet, we have a long way to go: Today only around 25% of our students are women.  If a woman thrives, communities prosper. Join us in supporting the female change makers of tomorrow.

Supporting women through targeted action and community

Female Empowerment is at the heart of what we do, be it through specific projects, campaigns, or features on our digital Kiron Campus, our female students find a supportive and productive community with Kiron.

Digital education is particularly relevant for female learners as care and child responsibilities, as well as cultural factors, often prevent them from participating in more traditional forms of education and work. Today only around 25% of our purely online students are women, but through our blended courses in the Middle East, these numbers are above 40%. These programs have proved to be popular and successful, yet we have a long way to go. Support us in bringing digital education to even more female refugees worldwide and empower them to become changemakers in their communities.
