Volunteer German Teacher (10 Positions)
Kiron Open Higher Education gGmbH is a non-profit organization founded in 2015 with the mission to enable access to high-quality education for refugees and underserved communities through digital solutions. Our team of Kironistas is international, agile and thinks out-of-the-box. We are education experts, techies, designers, project managers, communicators, grant writers, researchers, coffee-drinkers, innovators and dreamers, who work together on this mission every day.
In order to achieve our goal, we are looking for volunteer German language teachers to join our project with Lingoda remotely, starting asap with a minimum availability of 2 hours/week.
Kiron as an employer offers such great flexibility, support and trust in its employees. I'm truly happy to have joined this family.
As a Volunteer German Teacher, you will…
Support Kiron’s collaborative program with Lingoda that emerged as a response to the war in Ukraine, by giving German language classes to refugees. It is a rewarding, fun & hands-on voluntary social engagement for the public good, creating true impact by breaking down one of the greatest barriers refugees are facing when they try to start a new life in Germany, which is the lack of language skills.
As a volunteer language teacher, you will be giving live German language classes to refugees on A1 and A2 level. The classes happen from mon-fri between 10.00-16.00 and you would be committing as much of your time as you can, with a minimum of 2 hours/week.
The language classes are designed by Lingoda in a “ready-to-be-picked-up” format, so that you will only need to coordinate your availability with the Lingoda volunteer language coordinator, and then deliver the classes through Zoom. At the beginning of the program, Kiron will provide you with a short training on safeguarding and data protection, to ensure that the students can learn in a safe environment.
