The People & Culture team is responsible for finding and empowering our Kironistas. We aim to promote a workplace that is inclusive, respectful, supportive, creative, collaborative, stimulating – and fun. Our new People Operations & Recruiting Manager will be a key element in delivering just that, together with a People & Culture Lead, a People & Culture Manager and People & Culture Student Assistant. We are looking to you to help optimise and scale our HR operations, find the right talent for Kiron, and design an outstanding candidate and employee experience.

As our new People Operations & Recruiting Manager …

… you will be responsible for providing an excellent experience throughout the HR lifecycle, from hiring, to onboarding to offboarding, and for ensuring flawless administration systems, documentation and processes. 



You will own…

People Operations, including…

  • Management of core areas, such as documents and contracts, payroll, employee data management
  • Being the contact person for colleagues in Germany, Jordan and Lebanon for individual queries and concerns, as well as process setup & support for new teams and our country offices 
  • Being the contact person for service providers, e.g. our tax advisor, lawyer and recruiting agencies 
  • Overseeing the execution of tasks in these areas and guiding and mentoring two junior colleagues
  • Managing our HR Software (Personio), exploring all features and optimising and integrating its use 
  • Ensuring Kiron HR policies are updated, consistent and reflective of best practices
  • Constantly reviewing, refining and, if applicable, automatising documents, processes and systems 



Recruitment, including…

  • Managing recruitment processes from start to finish, including coordinating internal stakeholders, candidate management, outreach strategy, application review, interviewing and salary negotiations
  • Optimising our recruitment processes and candidate experience and building our employer branding
  • Setting up and managing a scalable recruitment and onboarding process for our freelancers



Data & processes, including… 

  • Setting up an HR reporting & controlling mechanism 
  • Collecting and analysing qualitative and quantitative data about people & culture at Kiron



… and will grow in the following areas: labour law, HR controlling, organisational development, growth & development, culture (depending on your interests and previous experience).



You will be joining us at an exciting time! Amongst other projects, we are currently rolling out a new wage model, establishing a development & growth framework, implementing a more international and distributed workforce setup, redesigning the offboarding process, and developing highly scalable processes for freelance recruitment and onboarding.



About you

To succeed and grow in this position, you will likely be:

  • Passionate about human resources and interested in the administrative and operational side of it 
  • Communicative, respectful, and dedicated to providing an outstanding experience for all the stakeholders you interact with 
  • Process and detail-oriented, with a discerning eye and focus on continuous optimisation  
  • Able to lead projects and tasks with a high level of ownership and a problem-solving attitude 
  • Hands-on, tech savvy and data-driven 
  • Fluent in English 



… and will likely have: 

  • Experience working in human resources / people operations, or similar roles with transferable skills
  • Experience dealing with various types of stakeholders 
  • Experience with redesigning and optimising processes
  • Knowledge of German labour law 



Ideally, you might also have: 

  • Knowledge of labour law in other jurisdictions (especially EU / MENA)
  • Experience working in international and remote setups 
  • And / or experience in similar organisations (social businesses, start ups, NGOs)
  • Experience with Personio or other HR software platforms
  • Fluency in German (strongly preferred), Arabic or other languages

This is what you can expect…

After your first month, you will have an overview of the people & culture department and activities, have established good working relationships with Kironistas, and have familiarised yourself with our software, processes and systems 


After three months, you will have learned and taken over the most important people operations activities, have started to participate in or lead recruitment processes, and have identified gaps and areas for improvement in our documents, processes and systems 


After six months, you will have established yourself as an expert in the people team, have streamlined people operations processes and systems, be the main contact person for all operations-related topics, and have led recruitment processes with minimal supervision 


After 1 year, you will have built robust and scalable people operations processes and systems that can accommodate a growing and remote workforce, have built a reliable HR data system and have led innovation, optimisation or growth projects in your area of ownership
